UFC 195: Robbie Lawler vs Carlos Condit - Highlights
A few days from the start of 2016 is already time to major events in the UFC. On the evening of Saturday, January 2, at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas has held UFC 195, the first major event of the season.
The main event of the evening consisted of the match between Robbie Lawler and Carlos Condit, valid for the welterweight title. The fight was very exciting, the two wrestlers have scored a number of hits. The winner was the defending champion Robbie Lawler, emerged victorious by split decision.
As previously stated, the match was fought and characterized by a large number of strokes. Condit has scored many hits, though Lawler has been shown to have more power. The first round sees Condit send ground Lawler while in the second the roles are inverted with Condit to the mat and Lawler in search of Tko.
The third is the decisive one: Condit sends scored three times as many shots Lawler, but it is the champion to hit harder, especially meeting with short hooks and elbows. Condit won arguably the fourth round, forcing Lawler to an extreme effort not to collapse. The fifth round is exciting: Lawler goes on the attack to look for the knockout, but Condit is able to keep him at bay with his kicks.
A little less than a minute and a half from the end Lawler hits Condit, who is visibly shaken. For the rest of the round Lawler hit several times the opponent, who strenuously resists and tries to strike in turn the champion. At the final gong both warriors, exhausted, lean for several seconds at the cage, next to each other.
The scorecards see Lawler winning by split decision (48-47, 48-47, 47-48), but even if he won Condit there would be nothing to complain. In any case, the challenge has been epic, a great start to the season for the UFC!
