Porsche 936 Martini Racing Amazing Sound!
The German carmaker Porsche in 1976 proposed a new competition model: the Porsche 936, designed to be able to play different races including the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
In beauty treatments the car frame similar to model 908, whose main feature is the large airbox that was placed over the driver's seat in order to deal with the problem of cooling. Instead mechanical 6-cylinder boxer engine was fitted with an engine capacity of 2,142 cm ³, which develops an output of 520 HP at 8,000 rpm. This engine had already been added to the model Porsche Carrera RSR Turbo in 1974.
The debut of this model occurred in 1976 during the "300 km of the Nurburgring", later the same year won the "World Championship brands." Concerning the 24 Hours of Le Mans Porsche 936 won in 1976, 1977 and even in 1981, only lost in 1979 where the car was shelved, but was resumed after several changes for the various races and the last appearance on the track came in 1986 completed the race in sixth position, behind the Porsche 956 and the Porsche 962.
