Patchwork - Double Star Quilt Block Pattern

This video tutorial made by Youtuber "Rose Smith", is the processing of a new block in patchwork, called Double Star Quilt Block. It's so perfect to complete a quilt with a beautiful motive port in the center.

The materials used for this block is:

  • a white fabric for the bottom,
  • a fabric of a color of your choice,
  • cutting mats,
  • sewing machine,
  • the wheel to cut the fabrics,
  • the line for precision cutting.

To make this block, which measures 30 inches, you'll have to cut:

  • 12 squares from white fabric that measure 3 and a half inches per side,
  • 20 meters from the white fabric that measure 3 inches and 7/8 per side,
  • 20 meters from the fabric of the chosen color measuring 3 inches and 7/8 per side,
  • 6 rectangles from colored fabric that measure 3 and a half inches wide by 6 inches long ,
  • 4 squares from white fabric that measure 9 inches and a half.

Place on top of one another (straight with straight) white squares from 3 inches and 7/8 with colored ones in the same measure, draw a diagonal line from corner to corner and stitched on both sides of the latter, then make a cut on the diagonal, obtaining first of triangles, then you are going to open a square of two colors.

At this point, you can complete the making of the star at the center of the pattern, then placed vertically (next to each other), two rectangles cut from colored fabric and on each of the four sides, you will need to place two of the squares just made and sew everything to then complete this block.
