Brad Keselowski is the most fit of NASCAR Cup 2017 and it showed even at Martinsville, centering the second win of the season, the first on the oval of the State of Virginia.
The native of Rochester Hills driver has thus given us another success at team Penske, thanks to a better tyre management than Kyle Busch (Joe Gibbs Racing), who finished in second place. Unlucky race for Kyle Larson who, after starting from pole position, has denoted a poor handling of his Chevrolet, finishing in 17th position after losing time to adjust the trim.
Jimmie Johnson, winner of the race in Martinsville for 9 times, has had to face another tough race by closing the 15th after an extra pit stop at the end of the race. With a gap of 2"1 from the winner was ranked Chase Elliott, (team Hendrick Motorsports) with the first Chevrolet to the finish line. Still a Top 5 for Joey Logano, fourth, but detached from over 2 "4 from the podium and a 4"5 by teammate. The Top 5 was closed by Austin Dillon (Richard Childress Racing), which has put behind the Chevrolet with A.J. Allmendinger.
At the time the ranking of Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series 2017 sees Kyle Larson in command with 268 points, followed by Chase Elliott (264), Martin Truex Jr. (236) and Brad Keselowski (234).
Next date with NASCAR is scheduled for Sunday, April 9 at Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth.
