Heartwarming Therapy Dog Working with Dying Hospice Patient
In this video we can see a Golden Retriever who practices his "work" in a hospital bed next to an elderly person. Pet Therapy is a discipline that involves the interaction between man and the animal and it is shown that it is of great help as psycho - emotional in many therapies, also quite invasive.
This therapy was "discovered" by the psychiatrist Boris Levinson in the early years of the second half of last century, the scientist was able to prove through his studies that patients who were joined with dogs had positive reactions to conventional therapies. this is because the emotional relationship that was to set in with the animal was an excellent cure for stress and depression.
In the early 80s in the United States was founded the Delta Society, an association of research that studies all the benefits of pet therapy on patients.
In Italy this kind of "cure" has not come a long way, there are some associations of volounteers that deal with it but are often obstacled by institutions. It's really a shame!
