Francisco Vargas vs Orlando Salido - Highlights
We expected a great show in the match valid for the WBC super featherweight between the two Mexican boxers Francisco Vargas and Orlando Salido. The expectations have been completely repaid, since the two challengers have given the public a real war in authentic Mexican style!
After an epic battle, the judges declared a draw verdict, which allowed to the champion Francisco Vargas to retain his title. The final score was 115-113 for Vargas, then 114-114, 114-114. The match of the StubHub Center in Carson, California, was marked by 12 rounds of very high rates, a real war that is definitely one of the best matches of this 2016.
The fighting was intense from the start, the quiet in fact lasted just a couple of minutes, just long enough to avoid cold lethal blows, then the two warriors have broken the ice and from that point on, there has not been a moment of respite. If the first few exchanges have given the impression that Vargas could groped to make use of its greater technical cleaning to avoid being drawn into a war without quarter, soon Salido has swept away this illusory assumptions breaking the plunge and starting a barrage of hooks to the body and the face that has not stopped since.
"El Bandido" has therefore been forced to get down on the preferred terrain of the rival but was pulled back by reiterating blow for blow despite the suffocating pressure of more experienced opponent. After the initial storm that saw Salido be preferred, Vargas had increased their workrate in the fifth round increased exchange and succeeding in the sixth round to severely shake the rival. Just when it seemed to be the turning point in the air, however, the timeless Siri found the strength to resurface resulting in an extremely balanced seventh round and returning to dictate the law in the eight.
Now Vargas has started to use the jab more, avoiding the melee and accumulating some points of advantage. In the last round, however, the indomitable Salido has returned to impose the exchange to Vargas, turning the match ending in a full-fledged war. The two boxers ended the fighting visibly tired and exhausted from the furious battle supported. Just enough of a draw verdict, neither of them deserved to go out tonight defeated as we have seen in the ring!
