Errol Spence Jr vs Leonard Bundu - Highlights
Continues the irresistible rise of the young American welterweight Errol Spence Jr., who at the Ford Amphitheater Coney Island gets a new victory by knockout. This time to be demolished under the blows of the 26 year old "The Truth" is the Italian Leonard Bundu.
The 41 year-old Bundu, European champion welterweight and former challenger for the WBA title by Keith Thurman (defeated UD) held for six rounds, before collapsing due to a stunning left uppercut. Spence is the 21st victory, including 18 by knockout, and soon would be fighting for the IBF title. The match against Bundu was in fact an elimination for that title, whose winner was destined to challenge the champion Kell Brook.
Bundu was a warrior who has chosen to dare. He tried to pick up the pace from the first gong, tried not to offer a fixed target continually changing guard, entered the danger zone even to place his shots. Although surprised at the beginning of Bundu, the US has not given anything. He retained his confident attitude, continued to place the shot only when he was certain not to suffer replies. The Italian of Sierra Leone has earned him some trouble.
But it turns out that after all we expected. A devastating left uppercut just above the chin, a terrible right hook to the jaw, and the story is over. The twenty-first episode of the adventurous ride of Errol Spence Jr. ended with yet another knock out, the eighteenth.
The reality is before the eyes of all. Spence Jr. is a champion, whether it is an absolute star players we'll know soon. It is one that hurts in both hands, has a careful boxing, personality and ability to concentrate. He was looking for the knockout, he wanted to do better than Thurman. He succeeded. Applause for him, all we've seen deserves applause.
