Derby della Mole 2015 - Amazing Free Kick by Andrea Pirlo
The 32nd round of the Serie A season 2014/2015 saw the Juventus to play against Torino with the possibility to close the speech title, with six matches to spare. The blacks and whites had a chance to extend the lead over Roma at +18 (fresh from a 2-1 defeat against Inter of Mancini), eighteen points of difference that would have declared victory of the fourth consecutive league title, well in advance.
Juventus, however, fails to establish itself on a great Turin that, surprisingly, won the derby, after 20 years. The match was hard-fought with several scoring chances on both sides, two chances for Juventus before with Pirlo (on unfortunate free kick) and then with Matri while for Torino a goal disallowed for offside of Martinez.
Then, a beautiful pearl on a free kick from Andrea Pirlo and the goals of Quagliarella and Darmian fix the end result at 2-1 to Torino. In ranking will not change anything: the Old Lady remain the first to +14 from Lazio (second in the classification) and at the end the season will win the championship tricolor, the fourth in a row.
For Pirlo, the goal in the derby was the twenty-eighth goal on free kick of his career: a record goal that allows to the midfielder from Brescia to become the leading scorer of the Serie A on free kick (together with Sinisa Mihajlovic).
