Deontay Wilder vs Chris Arreola - Highlights

Saturday July 16, at the Legacy Arena in Birmingham, Alabama, in the United States, The Bronze "Bomber" Deontay Wilder (37-0-0, 36 KOs) successfully defended his WBC heavyweight world title from the onslaught of the Challenger Chris "The Nightmare" Arreola (36-5-1, 31 KOs), forced to retire after the end of the eighth round. For Wilder this is the fourth voluntary defense of the belt conquered in January 2015 against Bermane Stiverne.

After a first round in which happened very little, in the two rounds following the Challenger took courage and tried to dress up the role of the aggressor but its slow and clumsy and appeared to sink The Bronze Bomber has had it easy step out unscathed by counterattacking with some dangerous combinations. In the fourth round Arreola was going down, but the sound of the gong saved him by knockout.

The champion reported a twofold injury hurting both the right hand to the biceps. Therefore, starting from the fifth round has limited the minimum wage the use of the right targeting an opponent with direct and left hooks and moving quickly on the legs so as not to give way to shorten the distance. The Nightmare is in no way able to take advantage of the favorable situation continuing to be pinched with disarming ease and relying on actions increasingly less convinced and less effective.

After an eighth round dominated by Wilder, Arreola's team has decided that their fighter had had enough: early retirement and new victory for the champion! The fighting has shown widely the inadequacy of Arreola as challenger for Wilder, which hopefully should fight in the future more challenging opponents.
