Decoupage tutorial - Tea box

In this video tutorial about decoupage, you will see how you can achieve in a simple box for afternoon tea bags.

Materials:
Wooden box (the size you want), white gouache, green gift card with the print you want (in this case the reason is floral), fine sandpaper, glue, water, shiny liquid.

Proceedings:
First of all, you can started to paint outside your box with white tempera, then with the Green tempera paint. Now, review a second coat of white tempera paint on the outside and just be dried go level the various imperfections with fine sandpaper.
Then in a saucer, pour two parts glue and water and mix, then place your printed on the gift card box and above it you go to brush the mixture you created earlier.
Finally, spend a coat of gloss and liquid as it becomes dry with colored tempera go decorate on your own box for tea bags.


The art of decoupage was founded already in the middle ages where the aim was to cut out pieces of colored paper and use it as a decoration. Over the years this merged with other technique as the pictorial and waxes.
This technique for the first time was applied to the furniture, then move on to the various objects you can find in the house.
