Candles shortbread - Recipe
This video offers a recipe very simple to implement, the "Spark pastry" that can decorate your tables in celebration. Let's see the ingredients that are used to prepare them.
Ingredients: 180 gr. sifted flour 00; 50 gr. powdered sugar; 60 gr. of softened margarine; 1 egg; 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract; hazelnuts.
Preparation: Put the flour in a container, previously sifted, vanilla, sugar, margarine and egg. Mix all these ingredients manually. So you'll have to get a stick smooth and without lumps. At this point, wrap it in a layer of transparent film and place in the refrigerator for about an hour.
Expired the time, take the dough and place on a floured pastry board previously. Roll out the dough with a rolling pin so as to obtain a sheet of about 3 mm thick.
Cut the dough in order to obtain three strips from different width.
The strips of dough will be wrapped around the cylinders, taking care to seal the ends of the pastry. Each cylinder of dough will then passed into the chopped hazelnuts, as it is shown in the video.
Take a pan, wrap it with baking paper and place the three cylinders of dough. Bake at 180° for about 20 minutes.
When they are ready, remove the dough from the cylinders, after it has cooled down completely and then fill it with the custard.
The flames of the candles will be made ??of pastry with caramel. Just melt the fire 5 tablespoons of sugar. When it is still hot, pour it on toothpicks, can un placed on a layer of baking paper and let cool . Then you can remove the flames from the parchment paper and place on candles so that will be complete.
