Audi Quattro S1 at 1000 Lakes Rally - Group B LEGEND
During the Rally of Finland (also known as the 1000 Lakes Rally) in 1985 the Audi Quattro S1 made his debut in the World Rally Championship, a new evolution of the previous model and designed to counter the Peugeot 205 Turbo 16 evo that was dominating the competition. The car was equipped with significant improvements, all before the power increased to 500 horsepower, which was subsequently increased to 540 and then to 600 hp. It was also installed a twin-disc clutch and a fuel injection system which provided small amounts of fuel even at closed throttle. All efforts from Audi were vain, however, as the Quattro S1 won just a competition, the Sanremo Rally in 1985, before being shelved after only six races. A real failure for the house with the four wheels, a big hit for fans of the Group B.
