Alexander Povetkin vs. Mariusz Wach Highlight Knockout

Yet another win for the maximum weight Alexander Povetkin, who won by TKO in the 12th round on Polish Mariusz Wach. The match took place in Kazan (Russia), where Povetkin defended the WBC Silver title.

Before this match both boxers had just one defeat in their records, both beaten by the number of category 1 and WBA Super, WBO and IBF world champion Wladimir Klitschko. On The ring of Kazan Povetkin proved clearly superior, outclassing the opponent from the first round. The Russian demolished the Challenger with a constant pressure, forcing the Polish defensive and hitting it hard. With each passing round Povetkin has increased his rhythm with Wach increasingly exhausted and scarred his face.

In the 11th round the Challenger has risked the knockout after suffering numerous powerful shots. Despite the large capacity of resistance, Wach could not able to trouble his rival and a nasty Gash on her face forced the referee to declare the ko in the following round.

With this victory, the 30th in his career (22 KOs), Povetkin launched her candidacy for the WBC world title held by American Deontay Wilder (35 victories, including 34 by knockout). The match should be done in early 2016. Wilder is expected to have a very challenging match with a challenger of absolute level as Povetkin.
