A tour in the SAAB car Museum
The video that this article presents was recorded inside the Saab Car Museum, located in Trollhättan, the original city of the Svenska Aeroplan Aktiebolaget. The museum was open in the 1975 and at the beginning it was not very exciting: situated under the retailer facility, it was even difficult to find it!
The actual location was inaugurated in conjunction with the 50th anniversary of Saab in the 1987 and completely revisited for the 50th anniversary of Saab Automobile in the 1997. In this situation the exhibition area were doubled and a lot of new cars were included in the museum, and also the new cars were launched in the building, like the Saab 9-3 SportCombi.
After Saab bankruptcy, the museum was saved by the citizens of Trollhättan that made a big part of the winning bid in the auction. So now all the city can consider itself the owner of the history of Saab, starting from its magnificent and historical cars.
In the museum you can find the Saab 92001, “Ursaaben”, the First Saab, and an example of each car produced by Saab in its 65 years of activity, for a total of around 120 cars: the great Saab Sonett, the Saab 900, the cars of the legend Erik Carlsson (3 times in a row RAC winner) up to the new models like the 9000 CS, the 9-3 and the 9-5 Aero and also some Concept Car, among which the most appreciated is without a doubt the Saab Aero X.
A magic place that every Saab enthusiastic should visit at least once in his life, if not "live", at least thanks to a beautiful video.
