Since the Ford GT made its official debut in 2015 at the Detroit Auto Show it is one of the most coveted supercar in the United States.
The more than 6500 order attempts have convinced Ford summits to increase production by 500 units originally planned up to 1000 total in four years (250 units per year until 2019). All this from GT fever despite many details of the sport made in Dearborn were yet to be revealed. Certainly, since its debut in Detroit, there was power, more than 600 hp.
Now, in 2017, the official data of the car and its performance becomes officially the fastest production car in the history of the Blue Oval. The 3.5-liter V6 engine, the most powerful EcoBoost ever, it delivers 655 hp at 6,250 rpm to a torque of 745 Nm at 5,900 rpm. Designed and optimized to give performance on the track, it reached a top speed of 347 km/h (216 mph). Nothing to do with the speed of 8 km/h of the first Ford GT was auctioned.
But above all - communicates the American home - during development testing at Calabogie Motorsports Park, in Canada, the new Ford GT driven by test drivers the Blue Oval has stopped time on 2'09"8 against the 2'10"8 McLaren 675LT and 2'12"9 Ferrari 458 Speciale equal lubricants, tires, suspension setup (and with the same driver at the wheel).
In this video you will see the start of the 2017 Ford GT.
