2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 - Nurburgring Nordschleife Lap
Camaro is, along with the Corvette, the symbol of House Chevrolet, and one of the most renowned automobile made in the USA. Like the competing Ford Mustang, for half a century fully it represents the spirit of American muscle cars and the new ZL1 since the debut has been proposed as one of the best performance coupe in the world.
To emphasize the concept Chevrolet led the beast at the Nurburgring, sparking a cavalry charge worthy of General Custer: under the hood the 6.2 liter supercharged V8 capable of delivering 650 horsepower and develop a 868 Nm torque.
American coupe, as you can see the full video of the lap, is able to complete the Nordschleife in 7'29"60. The resounding chrono of the Camaro ZL1 also beats the record of the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio of 7'32" which is still the best performance at the Ring for four-door sedans. The result was achieved thanks to a mechanical high-level starting from the supercharged V8 of 6.2 liters and the new 10-speed automatic transmission with Track mode.
With this result the Camaro curiously approaching the performance of the the old ZR1 Corvette (C6), which in 2011 had stopped the clock at 7'19"63. topped the list of the fastest unofficial Nurburgring road cars is the Radical SR8 LM with 6'48".
